And so it begins…yet no one knows.
Or so we thought. My wife and I discussed the idea over beer one evening. Nothing bad happens when you have a beer or two, right? What if we move? What if we bounce around the world? Ecuador, Thailand, Spain… We love to travel but internationally, with kids? Another pint, more discussion.
Unbeknownst to us, our daughter Keki was in the other room with her brother Bam playing. Kids hear everything. Fast forward a bit and other school parents mention things in passing and we suddenly have an appointment with the school principal to lay out our school plan. Nana just learned about it – I think she is in shock. “Yes Nana we are looking into this idea. No Nana, things are good, we’re not dying. No Nana our relationship is actually great! No Nana we won’t be gone forever.”
A few close friends know. That actually motivates me more. Tell someone your goal and now you’re more likely to stick to it right?
Now on to the prep work for this family adventure! Oh man, with all the necessary planning, I think I need a beer!
