The last walk through for me
Last week, as I finalized clean up and swept the garage, I did a quick walk-through of the house to make sure nothing was left behind. Reaching my bedroom, I sat down and looked around and thought about it all. The closet shelving Keki helped me build, the stencil Heather put on the wall…
Moments earlier I found Bam’s shovel and my hammer in the backyard. One last hole he had to dig for a sign he was creating with a friend.
The emotions set in, tears formed. I had told myself years ago don’t get emotionally attached to this house. I had a place once I loved and was so upset when it was gone. I’m not dealing with that again I said. This preparation was just another reminder how difficult it is to control those emotions.
